These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply when you download or use Stako, the workout app for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch (the “App”), and its website stako.fit. Stako is developed by Ilyas Abdulkadir (“we”, “us”). By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.
In short
- Stako turns workout videos you save into workout cards and runs them with timers. The videos belong to their creators.
- Workout cards are made automatically, partly with AI, and can be wrong. Check the exercises and numbers before you train.
- Stako is not medical advice. Talk to a doctor before starting a new exercise programme, and stop if something hurts.
- Stako Pro is an auto-renewing subscription through Apple. You can cancel it at any time in your Apple Account settings.
- Nothing in these Terms limits the rights you have under the law of your country.
1. What Stako does
Stako lets you save links to workout videos from TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts, shared from the share sheet or pasted into the App. It turns what the post says and shows into a workout card with exercises, sets, reps or times, rest and rounds, and runs it with timers, spoken cues, haptics, a Live Activity and the Apple Watch app. You can also plan your week, keep a streak, log your progress, save workouts to Apple Health and read workouts in your language. The App is free to download; some features need a Stako Pro subscription (see section 7). We may add, change or remove features over time.
2. Your licence to use Stako
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these Terms and the App Store rules. The App, its design, code, exercise catalogue, name and logo belong to us. These Terms don’t give you any rights to our name, logo or trademarks.
3. Your workouts and other people’s content
The videos, captions and workouts you save are created by other people. Stako is a personal tool for keeping track of workouts you want to do. It does not host, republish or share that content.
- For each post, Stako stores the link, its thumbnail and the text taken from it, so you can follow the workout yourself. The video itself stays with the service it was posted on.
- You’re responsible for the links you save and for how you use them. Please respect the terms of the services you save from and the rights of the creators.
- Saved workouts are for your personal, non-commercial use. Don’t use Stako to copy, sell or republish other creators’ work.
- Each workout keeps a link back to the original post so the creator stays credited.
- Your own edits and notes are yours. They stay on your device.
4. Other services
Stako reads posts from services such as TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. Those services are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies. Stako is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by TikTok, Instagram or Meta, YouTube or Google. Their names are used only to describe which links Stako works with. We aren’t responsible for their content or availability, and a service may change in a way that stops Stako from reading its posts.
5. Automatic and AI-generated content
Workout cards, translations, titles and clean-ups are made automatically, using Stako’s own reader and, when it’s needed, AI models (see the Privacy Policy). They can be wrong: an exercise may be missing, misnamed or added, and a number of sets, reps, seconds, rounds, rest or weight may be off. Before you start a workout, check the card against the original video, which is always one tap away, and correct it if needed. You decide what you do; the App only suggests.
6. Health and safety
Please read this section carefully.
- Stako is a tool for organising and timing workouts. It is not a medical device, and nothing in it is medical, health or fitness advice. Workouts come from third parties; we don’t create, check or endorse them.
- Talk to a doctor or other qualified health professional before starting any exercise programme, especially if you are pregnant, have a medical condition, an injury, or haven’t exercised for a while.
- Choose workouts that fit your fitness level, warm up, use proper form and suitable, safe equipment, and make sure you have enough space.
- Stop straight away if you feel pain, dizziness, faintness, shortness of breath, chest discomfort or feel unwell, and get medical help if needed.
- Heart rate, active energy and other figures shown in Stako come from Apple Watch and Apple Health and are estimates. They are not medical measurements and must not be relied on for any medical purpose.
- Timers, cues and notifications may be delayed or interrupted by your device. Don’t rely on them where your safety depends on exact timing.
You exercise at your own risk and are responsible for your own health and safety. Nothing in this section limits our liability where the law doesn’t allow it (see section 11).
7. Stako Pro subscriptions
Stako is free to download, and you can keep a limited number of workouts for free (currently 5; this limit may change and is shown in the App). Stako Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks unlimited workouts and features such as the weekly plan, progress and the AI tools. Monthly and yearly plans are offered; the yearly plan may include a free trial (currently 7 days) for eligible Apple Accounts. The current plans, prices in your country’s currency and any free trial are shown in the App and on the App Store before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
- Your subscription renews automatically for the same length and price unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- If a free trial is offered, it becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Any unused part of a trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your device’s Settings, under your name → Subscriptions. If you cancel, you keep Stako Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.
- Purchases and refunds are handled by Apple under its terms. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- If we change a price, you’ll be told in advance as Apple requires, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
- If Stako Pro ends, your saved workouts and history stay on your device and you can still open and run your workouts. You won’t be able to save more than the free number of workouts or use Pro features until you subscribe again.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the App in a way that breaks the law or the terms of the services you save content from;
- try to reverse engineer, overload or interfere with the App or the services it connects to;
- use the App to collect content in bulk or for commercial purposes.
9. Apple App Store terms
You downloaded Stako from Apple’s App Store, so the following also applies:
- These Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Your licence to use the App is limited to Apple-branded devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store Terms of Service.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App.
- If the App fails to meet an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any. Apple has no other warranty obligation for the App.
- Apple is not responsible for handling claims relating to the App, including product liability claims, claims that the App fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, consumer protection claims, or intellectual property claims.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
- You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo, and that you are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA) also applies, except where these Terms say otherwise.
10. Availability and no warranty
We work to keep Stako running well, but we can’t promise that it will always be available, work without errors or interruptions, or read every post. The App is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties that workout cards, translations or other figures will be accurate or complete, or that the App will suit a particular purpose.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, for loss of data, or for injury or loss resulting from a workout you chose to do, arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Nothing in these Terms limits the rights you have under the law of your country, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
12. Ending use
You can stop using Stako at any time by deleting the App and cancelling any subscription. We may suspend or end access to the App if these Terms are seriously broken.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we’ll let you know in the App or on this website. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring claims in the courts of that country.
